Announcing the January winner

The winner of the January Orange Computer giveaway is:

hypointh****@g****.com

Some characters hidden with asterisks to not reveal the exact email address.

If that’s you, just reply by email and let me know your choice between the laptop or desktop computer and between Windows or Linux for the operating system.

If you didn’t win this month, you are still in the drawing to win in upcoming months. All you have to do is remain subscribed and check your emails from me to see if you won the giveaway drawing and reply to claim.

People from outside the La Crosse area are eligible to win. If you have a United States mailing address, I can ship the computer to you. If you are in the general La Crosse or Viroqua, Wisconsin, areas I can schedule to deliver the computer right to you.

Here are the two computers that the winner can choose from:

I do have more of those models available for purchase, if either of those look like they would be a good fit for your computer needs.

Desktop vs Laptop computer ?

A lot of people just assume that laptop computers are better because that seems to be what every one else has. Some people view desktop computers as “outdated” or “clunky”.

That is not the case at all. I use both. And when I want to get work done more quickly, I use a desktop computer.

There are lots of reasons for this, but this video highlights some of them and explains why desktop computers are much better when considering the cost to performance ratio.

I do NOT agree with all of the opinions in this video, but it does excellent work explaining why laptops just can’t compete with desktop computers on the cost/performance ratio.

The only reason to use a laptop is if you need portability… which is why I use both.

If you have a laptop that is frustrating to use, reach out to me to talk about alternative options.

Until next time,
