App Recommendation: LocalSend

Do you ever need to send a file to another device on your home network? Emailing it works for smaller files, but not for larger files.

There’s a better way.

LocalSend is a free and open source program. It can be installed most any kind of phone, tablet or computer (Windows, Mac, Linux).

I find this program useful for sending myself pictures that I take on my mini Android tablet to my desktop computer.

Memory and Storage prices

Over the last couple months, memory (RAM) has greatly increased in price. In some cases, tripling and quadrupling over what prices where in October.

This is mainly due to the tech company OpenAI negotiating deals with several large memory manufacturers to secure nearly half of new memory production for the next several years.

I’ve made some adjustments to my prices and upgrade options prices.

It is expected that prices on new computers will rise sharply, as this most affects the availability of new memory. However, that market pressure will have effects on memory and storage across the electronics industry.
