Still using Windows 10?

I don’t blame you.

It has been over four years since Windows 11 was officially released, but there are still a lot of issues and complaints. Official Windows Updates have broken important functionality and performance has gotten worse.

Staying with Windows 10, even after official support has ended, now looks to be a reasonable choice.

Microsoft is now rumored to be addressing some of these concerns with a performance focused Windows 11 update project called Windows K2.

"Windows K2 is Microsoft’s internal initiative to overhaul Windows 11 with a primary pillar dedicated to Performance, aiming to resolve issues where Windows 11 lagged behind Windows 10 and competitors like SteamOS (based on Linux).”

Windows Central article:

For a lot of people, this effort by Microsoft - yet to be realized - is too late. They’ve already switched to Linux, Chrome OS or even macOS.

Hopefully, the pressure put on Microsoft by large numbers of people getting fed up and leaving will cause them to bring back what people respected and admired Windows. I am not holding my breath on that, though.

I still sell computers with Windows 11

For most people, Microsoft Windows is the only option they are aware of when it comes to Personal Computers. It is the default. The expected.

So, of course, I still sell computers with Windows 11 and help people with repair and upgrades on computers that have Windows 11.

I like to let people know there are options. Linux is the option I most recommend people try, but Chrome OS from Google can also be a good fit if you already heavily use Google services like Gmail or Google Docs.

Chrome OS Flex can be installed on regular PC hardware, such as a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. You don’t have to settle for lower quality Chromebook hardware.

If you know anyone who has questions or concerns about operating systems, please mention Orange Computer. I enjoy helping people find the computer and operating system that works well for them.

I appreciate your referrals!
