Is a desktop or laptop computer better?

If you’ve known me for a while, you may have guessed that my answer is “why not both?”

Laptop and desktop computers each have their strengths and I use both. With a laptop, you get mobility. That mobility can be across continents or even just between rooms in your home. Mobility is a laptop’s greatest strength.

For everything else, a desktop computer ends up being better:

• More durable

• Less likely to be accidentally damaged

• Less likely to be lost or stolen

• Can have larger screen or multiple monitors

• More easily upgraded

• More upgrade options

• More processing power per dollar

The list could go on with even more reasons why a desktop computer beats a laptop computer.

I have seen an up trend of people considering and deciding on desktop computers in the last month or so. While I do specialize in ThinkPad laptops, it feels good to see people choosing a desktop computer that is likely to last longer for them and give them more options.

People from outside the La Crosse area are eligible to win. If you have a United States mailing address, I can ship the computer to you. If you are in the general La Crosse, Vernon or Crawford counties in Wisconsin, I can schedule to deliver the computer right to you.
